With Father’s Day just around the corner, you’re probably wondering what to give your old man. Well, your dad deserves only the best—so why not treat him to a delicious steak meal at home, courtesy of no less than Wolfgang’s Steakhouse? Just recently, this fine dining restaurant which originated in New York launched their delivery menu—and for this June, they are offering special cook-at-home sets that would surely delight the man of the house!

The below Father’s Day Special Cook at Home Set includes a USDA Prime Dry-Aged T-Bone Steak, 2 slabs of Canadian bacon, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a bottle of negroni. I have yet to meet anyone who wouldn’t enjoy this. I mean, come on, that premium piece of steak is to die for! As you probably know, the steaks at Wolfgang’s are dry-aged for 28 days, which results in a meat with incredible tenderness and concentrated flavor. It is so unbelievably good that you barely need sauce and seasoning!

I cooked the steak with a generous sprinkle of sea salt (included in the set), some thyme, and a little garlic. It only took a few minutes of searing and heating to achieve that perfect pinkish middle. I didn’t want to overcook it—that would be the absolute mortal sin! Anyway, the package comes with cooking instructions, so feel free to adjust according to how you want your food!

As expected, the steak was juicy, super soft, and really tasty—the flavor of the beef really shines, and you would want to savor, to feel and taste all that instead of drowning each bite with strong seasonings or sauces. But, you may add a bottle of Wolfgang’s signature Old Fashioned Sauce as well. It’s really delicious, with dominant flavors of tomato and horseradish, but I personally prefer just sprinkling a bit of salt on my slices of steak before putting them in my mouth! Heavenly!

The Canadian bacon slabs are humongous—it is slightly sweet and salty, and who says you can’t pair bacon with steak? They are wonderful together, LOL! I really dig the sides as well. The mashed potato was super light and creamy and tasty on its own, but since I have some truffle oil at home, I drizzled some of it and voila—orgasmic mashed potatoes! The creamed spinach is pretty good especially if you eat it with each bite of steak.

The Negroni shot straight to my heart—I’m in love! Most negronis I find in bars are sickly sweet. This one is really balanced and refreshing, yet still potent. I love it—I wonder they would sell this in their regular delivery menu, because I would order more!

Wolfgang Philippines have their prized meats carefully selected and then brought in from New York, before dry-ageing them here in a temperature-controlled facility for 28 days. Imagine the amount of work done to get a perfect steak to your plate—you can really taste the love and effort with each bite!

The Father’s Day Special Sets start at PhP5,288—with the cooked sets available from June 20 to 22, and the Cook at Home sets (just like this one) available from June 12 to 30. Not bad, really—considering that there were 4 dishes, one drink (which I did NOT share), and a gift voucher for dad. It might be worthy to note that 3 of us demolished shared this feast.
