GINcredible Nights at Bar Rouge | New World Makati Hotel

Raise your hands if you love G&Ts! Bar Rouge at the New World Makati Hotel is celebrating Gin Fest until the end of August. Enjoy unlimited gin and tonics from 5 PM to 9 PM from Monday to Saturday—how’s that for a perfect way to end the work day?

The promotion features over 20 kinds of gin and 3 selections of tonics, and it comes in 3 gin buffet packages. The first one is priced at PhP488, a real steal with its selections: Belgravia, Beefeater, Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Bulldog, and a new favorite of mine—the floral and sweetish J.J. Whitley Elderflower. If you’re someone who’s just starting to explore the beautiful world of gin, I recommend starting with this package.

Looking for something particular—maybe the Hendricks (another favorite)? Go for the PhP788 package, which includes this, as well as Whitley Neill, Martin Miller, Tanqueray 10, Citadelle, Cruxland, Portobello 71, Del Professore Madame, Del Professore Monsieur, and Four Pillars Rare.

A true-blue gin enthusiast? Do some serious drinking with the PhP988 package, consisting of premium options like the Botanist, London No. 1, Nordes, Four Pillars Navy, Brockmans, Liverpool, and Gin Sul. Take note that availing of a higher package lets you choose from the options from the lower packages as well!

Don’t forget to order some bar chow to share—and with gin’s easygoing flavors, it can be paired with almost anything. We loved Bar Rouge’s pizza selections, nachos, beef salpicao, and cheese platter. If you’re feeling extra famished, get their extremely delicious burger paired with equally tasty fries. You know what? Even if you’re not that hungry, GET THIS BURGER.

While you’re at the bar, ask for their award-winning cocktail called the Smoky AruGin, which is off the menu. This cocktail won at the World Gin Day 2018 competition, thanks to Bar Rouge’s talented mixologist, Dexter Poquita.

Keen for some amazing music? Attack on a Wednesday for their Contempo night and witness DJs from Groove Nation spin the old-fashioned way—using vinyl records! I have to put emphasis on their music (combination of city pop, indie pop, synthpop, Balearic, disco, boogie, and deep house—yassss to the last three) as it really provides a special atmosphere to the bar—lounge-y, a little bit dance-y, unfamiliar yet familiar-sounding, and totally unobtrusive. This is a must-experience at Bar Rouge!

The next time you find yourself stunned with all the bar choices to chill in after work, hop over to Makati and try Bar Rouge. Even if you’re not a fan of gin, there’s definitely something for you with their regular Happy Hour promo—50% off in all drinks. Sit back, loosen up, retreat in Bar Rouge's deep woods and reds, and get lost in its old world charm.
