In a previous post, I wrote about Star Lounge’s brunch offering—the best brunch buffet in Boracay. Indeed, The District’s in-house all-day dining restaurant has what is currently the best selection of morning staples in terms of variety and value-for-money, but this cheery, inviting space totally transforms into a whole new world once the sun hides itself from view. Step into the 2nd level at night and you will find an elegant space perfect for a quiet—even romantic—dinner meal, or walk up the roof deck and revel in the vibrant yet classy ambience. Yes, Star Lounge morphs, and it turns Boracay evenings much more exciting.

The District’s small yet majestic façade might be a little intimidating to some tourists, but the hotel’s dining offers are actually fairly affordable. Take for example a grilled dinner I had in my recent visit, which cost PhP1,100 but which consisted of steak, salad, and soup. I wouldn’t get this in any Manila hotel as luxurious as The District.
Star Lounge’s Grill Menu highlights a 3-course set dinner consisting of a soup, a salad, and an entrée. Diners can choose between the tomato soup (PhP220, a la carte) and the roasted pumpkin soup (PhP220, a la carte), and for the salad, Star Lounge serves their garden salad (PhP320, a la carte) consisting of fresh greens, tomatoes, onions, capers, olives, and Caesar dressing.
I was able to try both soups because I came with a companion and I loved the pumpkin soup (right) more than the tomato one. The latter was also rich and delicious but I was craving for chunks of tomatoes similar to my favorite ones in Manila.
For the entrée, guests have a wide variety to choose from—from carnivores to seafood lovers to pescetarians, there’s something for everyone at Star Lounge. My friend ordered the Angus Beef Fillet (PhP960, set), which was a smoky, juicy slab of tender beef that came with steamed rice and mushroom sauce. If you like steaks with lean meat and practically no fat, order this. He enjoyed it with a glass of Two Oceans Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot (PhP220/glass).
I, on the other hand, got the Rib Eye Steak (PhP1,100, set), which was a humongous slab of perfectly-cooked beef served with steamed rice and chimichurri sauce. The steak was so big and thick that it was almost good for sharing—even the Westerners, who are used to this kind of serving size back home, were surprised at the portion. Surprisingly, the meat was juicy and tender—a real steal for its size and price!
Can I just emphasize at this point that I loved the chimichurri sauce? It was so addicting. Good thing I didn’t get the mushroom sauce, which was a bit plain in my opinion. Diners get to choose their preferred sauce and carb to pair their protein with—so whether you’re team rice or team mashed potato, or you prefer American, French, or Mediterranean sauces, you can get to enjoy your entrée exactly the way you want it!
The Grill Menu is available daily from 7:00PM to 9:00PM—a perfect way to fuel up before a long night of partying in the most energetic island in the country.
For drinks, you must try Star Lounge’s signature The District Mango Mojito (PhP210), which, with the brilliant addition of the fruit, became even more refreshing than the mojito I'm used to. If you don’t like cocktails, Star Lounge has an extensive wine selection which you can enjoy with your seafood or steak.
Weekends become even more exciting as Star Lounge dishes out BBQ plates for the hungry Boracay partygoers. Every Friday and Saturday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, special BBQ dishes are offered such as shrimp and beef on skewers, burgers, and barbecued chicken. Local beers and cocktails are also offered at 40% off—happy hour just became happier!
While enjoying nightfall, why not pass around barbecued bites and beers over some shisha? Star Lounge offers the only Meduse shisha products in the country (roof deck, 5:00PM - 10:00PM). The Meduse shisha boasts of a modern functional configuration using handcrafted Bohemian glass and unique pipe designs; the body and pipes are programmed to change colors too.
It was the first to use real fruit-based cocktails inside the glass body, and you can also request to have your favorite liquor mixed in. I normally don’t do shisha when I go out to drink, but if you’re partying with friends this is definitely something new to try.
With these exciting offerings at Star Lounge, I’m definitely recommending a visit to The District to sample some delicious grilled dinner, or enjoy a night of drinks, pass-around food, and shisha. Whether it’s a sumptuous morning spread you seek to start your day with, or an epic time at night, Star Lounge at The District has its doors open for you.
