New Premium Wagyu Burgers at Village Tavern in BGC

It’s the quality of the patty that makes or breaks a burger, and Village Tavern, a New American restaurant in Bonifacio High Street Central, is committed to emphasize this yet again with its new array of premium burgers—featuring the decadent Wagyu beef. Chef Josh Boutwood updates their burger list with four new creations, using the same smoky, hefty, marbled, high-quality patty that blew foodies away with indulgences such as truffle and foie gras burgers. Take a tour around the world with these burgers inspired from distinct German, French, Mexican, and American flavors.

The Octoberfest (PhP675) takes the Bavarian fĂªte into burger form; here, Swiss cheese blankets the Wagyu patty, then a clump of braised red onions sits on top. The burger is served with a delicious beer mustard.

I loved the Monte Carlo (PhP695)—a French-inspired burger loaded with St. Nectaire cheese, black olive tapenade, and prosciutto. The ham and the tapenade burst with bold, salty flavors, while the cheese has a hint of sweetness. I think this would be perfect with some wine or sangria.

My favorite was the Mexican (PhP650), which was simply a flame-grilled Wagyu patty topped with chili and spicy cheese sauce. This was as aromatic as it was delicious—the spice level is just right, and the flavors are addictive. Order some beer to go with this!

There’s also the Waldorf (PhP625), the “burger-ification” of the popular salad. Apple, celery, walnuts and St. Nectaire cheese top the Wagyu patty, lending a crunchy bite and a refreshing taste.

I loved the fact that these burgers are loaded with interesting ingredients but they don’t steal the spotlight from the succulent Wagyu patty. Indeed, Village Tavern manages to highlight the top-notch quality of their beef.

Head over to Village Tavern ASAP to try these burgers as they’re available for a limited time only. Take a pick from the restaurant’s extensive wine list, or get some beer to enjoy your burger with. Dine before 7:00PM and enjoy discounts from Village Tavern’s cocktail, beer, sangria, and wine selections. Prices are a bit on the high side, but it’s the ambience and the quality you’re paying extra for.
