Photo Essay: The Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Davao

The relaxation time after each Philippine Summer Ball is one of the things I look forward to each year. While last year we climbed the heights and explored the depths of Sagada, this year we spent a leisurely day at the luxurious Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Davao. After working hard for the competition, I truly deserve this awesome break. Getting pampered all day, feasting on delicious food, soaking under the sun, lounging by the tranquil beach, and just marveling at the breathtaking views -- not that’s the kind of vacation I’ve been waiting for!

I couldn’t be any happier that Davao City was the host of this year’s Summer Ball. Not only is it a relatively safe and peaceful place, it holds some of the most beautiful spots in Mindanao as well. Too bad I wasn’t able to visit everything I targeted. Two days for Summer Ball and an overnight stay at Pearl Farm pretty much consumed all of my time there—so wait for me Davao, I’m booking another flight!

I’d like to say that the Summer Ball was the highlight of my trip to Davao, but no, Pearl Farm erased all memories of it. This posh resort in the islands of Samal and Malipano has some of the most stunning sights I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d spare you all the gushing and raving and let my pictures do the talking instead. A full review is coming soon, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on these amazing images! Don't forget to breathe!

Leaving the Marina Wharf, the boat station to Pearl Farm Beach Resort

My fellow dancers having fun

My turn! HAHAHA!

Walking towards the boat that would take us to Pearl Farm

See you later, Davao City! :p

A pavilion looming on the horizon. Naks!

Approaching the Parola -- Pearl Farm's signature structure

Had to wait until everyone has left the boat before I even got this lousy shot.

Welcome drinks upon arrival. OMG this is going to be a great day.

Check out the amazing view from the 2nd floor of the Parola

Walkway to the main resort
Only a fool or someone really ugly would refuse to have his photo taken with THIS as the background.

Or this.
"Wacky" shot with fellow dancers who joined Summer Ball. As always, for me "wacky" means doing this.

This speedboat took us to the exclusive Malipano Island.

Paradise.

The most relaxing scene I've ever witnessed.

One of the 7 exclusive Malipano Villas.

A villa perched on stilts seaside.

Awesome view from the balcony of Villa #7, the most expensive among the seven villas.

The amateur Latin champion, having his well-deserved break in the villa's private pool overlooking the sea.

Fresh and super yummy fruits from the buffet lunch.

Am I on a diet?

Dining with a view

Believe me, dancers' feet are not photogenic. LOL

Doing the mandatory slippers-and-sunglasses-on-the-sand picture

Taking a dip into the infinity pool

The Parola transforms into a bar at night.

I'm taking lots of foot pics so that someone might sponsor a foot spa or something. LOL!

Breathe in the tranquility of it all

OF COURSE! Did you honestly think we would forget to do a jumpshot?
