I’m always on the lookout for a quick but filling meal, especially
the delicious kind -- so when Army Navy opened its doors in McKinley Hill, I was
among the excited ones. I’ve always admired the casual ambiance of the diner in
its Trinoma branch: from the wall drawings, tables and chairs, ordering
station, and menu design, everything contributes to the overall “military” theme.

Army Navy's Regular burger
|
True to its mission, which is for customers to come in
hungry and walk out happy, Army Navy serves a rather straightforward food
selection to delight anyone’s growling stomach. The burgers come in three sizes
– Regular for a quarter-pounder
single beef patty, Double for two
patties, and Bully Boy, a ¾ pounder for the famished. Whichever
size you order, you get a juicy burger topped with lettuce, tomatoes and onions
sandwiched on a black sesame seed bun. I am never disappointed with the Regular size, as long as I pair it with
Freedom Fries (thinly cut and crispy) and a large glass of their signature LiberTea
(freshly brewed, just the way I like my iced tea). Yet, if you prefer more
toppings, you can choose from any of the available add-ons like egg, bacon, and
cheese.

Army Navy also has a variety of burritos to choose from:
whether you like the pork, chicken, steak, or vegetarian variant, you will
surely satisfy your craving for a Mexican flavor. Not a fan of burrito? Opt for
quesadillas or soft tacos and complement them with a side of tortilla chips. Can’t
get by a meal without rice? Try their Fearless Fried Chicken, a quarter-chicken
composed of thigh and drumstick portions, served with their tangy pepper gravy.

Tacos |
Undeniably, the menu choices are nothing fancy but you are
sure to get a simple yet satisfying meal. It may take some time to be served,
since they cook your burgers upon ordering, but whether it’s for a takeaway
lunch or an afternoon indulgence, the wait is always worth a delicious treat.
