Old Vine Grille is my default choice whenever my office friends let me decide where to eat during our frequent lunch-outs. Offering continental dishes and situated alongside its sister restaurant Kuse (which offers Filipino cuisine), Old Vine is the best restaurant at the McKinley Hill Piazza and is my absolute favorite.
Its rustic wooden interiors set a very classy atmosphere amidst casual dining. I have no idea if it’s supposed to be a formal dining place, but since I am friends with almost all the staff there, I really don’t care. I have already tried majority of what’s on their menu, and I think the best are the Pan-fried Garoupa Fillet in Lemon-Butter Sauce (part of their Executive Lunch promo), Stir-fried Seafood Paella, Marinated Salmon Carpaccio, Beef Salpicao Fried Rice, and Steak, Cheese and Asparagus.

For dinner, it’s best to try their steak dishes and pair them up with wine. They have an extensive assortment of alcoholic beverages as well, so sometimes I gulp down some dry martini before I start dinner. They also serve cheap beer during Happy Hour.

In general, I find Old Vine an ideal place to have long dinners with friends while chilling to some drinks. Flavorful food, friendly staff, elegant ambiance – what could possibly be better?
