Find Your Sole-Mate: Paez Shoes Philippines

Every time I pack for my trips, comfort is the first thing I consider when choosing which clothes and shoes to bring with me. I love walking along foreign streets for hours on end, exploring every corner in search of something interesting: quirky book shops, stores selling vintage stuff, food carts, anything that a new place offers other than what we have in Manila. That’s why I always buy comfortable shoes (addicted to boat shoes and slip-ons here) which could withstand my affinity to loooong days (and nights).

So when Paez shoes invited me to their pop-up store in Alabang sometime back, I was more than happy to visit and check out their products. Paez is an Argentinian footwear brand specializing in designs that are eye-catching, creative, and comfortable. They drew inspiration from traveling, meeting new people, and telling good stories—and these three are reflected on the way their products are designed and assembled. Putting emphasis on personal style rather than trends, Paez offers a wide array of colors and styles which men, women, and children can choose from.

If you visit Paez’ blog, you will see how simple yet carefree and creative they are, and this attitude is reflected on their products—understated yet comes with interesting twists.

I love the pastel colors that are catchy but not too flamboyant. Well, OK, they have artsier designs that are more colorful than the rest, but these still manage to look elegant and not cheap. The soft fabrics, the comfortable, bendy sole—perfect not just for my travels but also for everyday use! To transform a commodity into an international icon—this is what the Paez brand lives for.

The sole of a Paez shoe is made with EVA and Argentinian leather, while the fabric is cotton canvas. I’m amazed at how light and comfortable the shoes are! Moreover, the materials and design allow my feet to breathe.

Better yet, each pair costs only around PhP1,900 to PhP2,500—so you can actually buy a couple of these cute shoes without breaking the bank!

In the end, I chose this pair (I love blue shoes) while my friend decided on picking the off-white one. Cute, right? A lot of our friends keep asking where we got our shoes! Well, here it is!

Paez is specially designed for "Dream Jumpers": people who now what they want and how to get it. These people stay focused to their dreams, but still have fun pursuing them. I'd like to think I'm one of these people!

As for my new shoes, I’m definitely bringing this to my future trips. You know, I have this weird emotional attachment towards my stuff—I remember which bag or shoes traveled with me to Batanes, which shirt I was wearing when I met this person in Boracay, etc. I’m excited to make new memories with my new cute Paez shoes!
