4 Things to Expect from Midori Clark Hotel & Casino: The Hub of Luxury and Recreation in the North

Pampanga may be known for its scrumptious local cuisine, but newly-opened Midori Clark Hotel and Casino seeks to go beyond that typecast. The 9,900-sqm., 111-room hotel soft-opened last June, a momentous chapter that opens more possibilities to the food-centric province and puts it in the hospitality map. Situated in the Clark Freeport Zone, an emerging residential, commercial, and entertainment destination less than 3 hours away from Manila, the luxury hotel is at the center of eco-tourism, recreation, and IT developments.

I was one of the few lucky people to get invited to its soft opening celebration, and together with fellow bloggers, VIP guests, and the guys behind Midori Clark, I was introduced not only to the impressive hotel but also to its wide array of offerings: from the high-end casino and luxurious accommodations to the unique dining and recreation venues.

The moment I stepped into the hotel’s spacious and grand lobby, I was already looking forward to see more of its amenities, experience our room, and try its culinary offerings. We were greeted by the warm and friendly Midori staff at the door and were guided to the neighboring Café Midori, where our welcome drinks were served.

After our bags had been taken to our rooms and we had rested for a while, we headed back to lobby for a little get-together. The officers of Midori themselves welcomed us and told us more about this exciting hospitality concept in this region—currently the biggest in Central Luzon. They led us to a toast to celebrate the completion of the first phase of this huge development, and after that, free-flow champagne, wine, and hors d’oeuvres were passed around.

Some of Midori Clark’s facilities—like the swimming pool and a high-end cigar and whisky bar—are still under construction, but the casino is fully functioning as well as majority of the rooms and suites. The hotel is expected to hold its grand opening by the fourth quarter of 2016. In the meantime, here’s what to expect at Midori Clark Hotel and Casino:

1 | Spacious and modern rooms and suites

We were billeted into a Superior Room (43 sqm), which features two twin beds, a workstation, a sitting area, an en suite bathroom  with separate shower and toilet spaces, a mini-bar with coffee and tea-making equipment, a 47-inch LCD TV, and an in-room safe. This room category is also available in a single Queen bed configuration.

There are a couple of things I especially loved about our room: (1) the comfortable bed with its Sealy pocket-spring mattress and 300-thread count sheets; (2) the nice bathroom with Acca Kappa toiletries; (3) the spacious work area; (4) the complimentary snacks from the mini-bar; and (5) the overall color scheme itself, composed of neutral gray, white, and brown tones. The design is elegant and simple, with functionality as the top priority.

We also got a sneak peek of the 366-sqm Presidential Suite with separate living and dining spaces, two bathrooms, an outdoor balcony tub, a bar, a kitchen, and an audio-visual room.

2 | Distinct dining outlets

As of writing, three (3) of Midori Clark’s five dining concepts are already open.

Café Midori

This spot is perfect for having morning or afternoon coffee with friends, entertaining colleagues (for walk-ins), or catching up on some work. Open 24 hours, it serves snacks and desserts, as well as fresh juices and cocktails. The café also has a relaxing view of the garden outside.

Toscana

The capacious and elegant all-day dining venue of Midori Clark serves buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as an a la carte menu that is still in the works. Offering a bit of flavor from different cuisines around the world, Toscana’s buffet spread features delicious creations—from tasty and freshly-made siopao and unique Japanese rolls (kimchi roll, anyone?) to sumptuous entrées and luscious desserts. Make sure you bring a heap of appetite when you visit.

Baccus Lounge

My personal favorite (how come you’re not surprised?), the sophisticated bar and lounge has an extensive wine and liquor selection as well as local and imported beers and finely crafted cocktails. Admire the Mt. Arayat from its floor-to-ceiling windows, and enjoy live music during weekend evenings. Tell the bartender what you like, and he would gladly whip up something for you.

Coming soon: the Cigar Maduro (cigar and whisky bar) and Baci Bar (pool bar).

3 | A major MICE destination in the north

Midori Clark houses an enormous ballroom called the Festa Hall, which can accommodate up to 400 guests. This facility, complete with smaller function rooms and VIP areas, will undoubtedly make the hotel a sought-after conference and event venue choice.

4 | Endless recreation

Come to Pampanga for the food, but extend your stay for recreation. Midori Clark has attractive options such as the Chan Spa, which offers relaxing treatments designed to rejuvenate the mind and body—skilled therapists and fine service included.

Conscious about fitness? The hotel’s first-class Gym is installed with SportFit equipment to make sure your workout requirements are met. If the huge windows bathing the room with sunlight and offering a stunning view of nature don’t get you going, I don’t know what could.

A gaming enthusiast? Drop by the Midori Casino and play on the high-end slot machines or join any of the card games. It has a lounge area too where you can enjoy a few drinks or late-night snacks.

Coming soon: KTV rooms, a mahjong room, the swimming pool, and a multi-billion-peso waterpark.

-----------
Congratulations to Midori Clark Hotel and Casino! I personally am impressed with the quality of the hotel and am excited to experience its distinctive offerings in the future. Thank you for having me!
